About Timor Port SA. 

Timor Port, the country's first public-private partnership, will cost a total of $490 million over a 30-year period. The new port is located in Tibar Bay, 12 km from the capital Dili. It is equipped with some of the most modern handling equipment and operating software to enable the operation of container ships of more than 7,500 TEUs, achieving a level of productivity and performance worthy of the world's largest ports.

The ambition of the Port of Timor is to facilitate the country's trade with the rest of the world, in particular with China, northern Australia and Asian countries, and to make Tibar a transhipment centre and a major maritime gateway to the Asia-Pacific region.

Mission Description                      

About The Position
Timor Port S.A, a subsidiary of the AGL Group, is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Communications Coordinator (Local Hire). The position will be responsible for executing the internal and external communications strategy once it has been validated by the company's Communications Manager. As an integral part of the parent company, the Communication Coordinator's mission is to use traditional and digital communication tools and platforms to build and/or enhance the company's reputation locally and sub-regionally, to attract and retain our talent, and to promote understanding of the company.

The main responsibilities of the role will be:
• Ensure the development and implementation of the company's communication plan.
• Propose a social media content strategy to improve visibility, awareness and moderation of Timor Port's social media platforms.
• Update and manage the company website.
• Make content proposals for press releases, articles and keynote presentations in line with management guidelines.
• Create and maintain a database of all visual media produced by the company, such as photos, videos, infographics, logos, etc.
• Coordinate and produce an internal newsletter.
• Coordinate and prepare promotional material for trade shows, conferences and other events.
• Maintain strategic relationships with key publications and contacts with media, youtubers and influencers.
• Organize internal and/or external events with or without partners.
• be a source of ideas for the communications department

 

Profile

Eligibility Criteria:
• A tertiary qualification in communications or marketing.
• At least a minimum of 3 years of experience in communications and marketing, preferably in international industry.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing communications campaigns and events.
• Experience in using Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
• Essential: English, both spoken and written and able to write and translate from English to Tetum and vice versa plus with a minimum knowledge of Portuguese will be very advantageous.
• Asset – graphic design and photo/video editing skills.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to build and maintain strong relationships within the business by working with various stakeholders throughout the business.
