Mission Description
Responsible for managing the payroll data from end to end for multiple African countries. You will be required to respond to your HR responsible parties regarding questions about earnings, deductions, and company contributions, as well as the ability to provide all report creation based on the countries internal requirements. The incumbent will also provide mentoring and training to payroll officers and provide assistance to the Payroll Supervisor when required. Responsible for the management and user training of both ESS.
Profile
Job Function:
• Responsible for full payroll functions (Capture, import, report, GL import & reconcile)
• Manage employee profiles for leave administration in accordance with leave policies and
procedures.
• Administer & manage Employee self-service profiles
• General Monthly payroll processing.
• Month End Recons.
• General Ledgers / Journals, imports and checks.
• Hierarchy management (ensure all mandatory information is up to date and in line with A'Community)
• Statutory Reporting and payment journals
• Process payment checks on time and resolve payroll issues in a timely manner.
• Ability to rotate into different countries
• Method of Calculation Knowledge
• Month end reporting and schedules for responsible countries
• Expatriate & local plus salaries & benefits
• Ensure compliance with payroll legislation for the assigned payrolls
• Update Payroll SOP process in real time
• Accurate upkeep of soft copy filing system (SharePoint)
• Ensure Soft copy system (SharePoint) access is up to date
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within payroll operations
• Manage monthly timelines for the SAREG entities
• Alternate Bank application uploader for all entities
• Manage the succession plan when a team member is away ill or on leave.
• Assist payroll Supervisor with reviewing and approving payrolls where necessary
• First review on payroll process updates.
• Handle ad hoc payroll-related tasks and projects as assigned
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• Min 5 years – Payroll experience
• Sage 300– is essential (ESS included)
• Attention to detail is essential
• Word and Excel is essential
• Matric – Compulsory
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Ability to work under pressure with set timelines and deadlines.
• Familiarity with the payroll related legislation within the Southern Africa Region.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prepare and present financial reports.
