Mission Description
Job Purpose:
The Operations & Planning Coordinator is responsible for ensuring effective operational planning and performance monitoring across the terminal. This role supports strategic execution through daily, weekly, and long-term planning of operations, accurate KPI tracking and reporting, asset maintenance coordination, and optimization of yard and equipment usage. The ideal candidate will be skilled in operational systems (such as Navis), analytical reporting, and cross-functional coordination.
1. Operations & Resource Planning
• Develop, implement, and maintain detailed berth and operations plans aligned with vessel schedules.
• Coordinate resource allocation (labour, equipment, cranes) to maximize productivity and turnaround times.
• Monitor and manage capacity utilization, including real-time yard space planning and optimization.
• Create production plans and regularly compare actual performance with the plan to identify and close any gaps, improving operational efficiency.
• Represent AGL in pre-planning meetings and lead discussions to find cost-effective solutions that maximize berth productivity and reduce Ship turnaround time
• Lead the creation of a KPI dictionary, ensuring key performance indicators are tracked daily, with actions taken to address any shortfalls
2. KPI & Performance Monitoring
• Daily generation and analysis of KPI reports and yard count metrics to drive decision-making.
• Design and maintain dashboards to track performance indicators for operations, yard utilization, and asset deployment.
• Identify performance gaps and recommend process improvements to meet or exceed operational targets.
4. Discretionary Development & Strategy
• Drive development of new KPIs aligned with strategic goals to enhance visibility and performance management.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to introduce and refine operational best practices across departments.
5. Equipment & Asset Maintenance
• Develop and oversee maintenance plans for key terminal assets, including cranes and reach stackers.
• Track maintenance schedules and coordinate with technical teams to minimize downtime and extend asset lifespans.
6. Best Practices & Capacity Management
• Lead initiatives to standardize and improve yard usage practices to ensure safe, efficient, and scalable operations.
• Analyze capacity trends and support long-term infrastructure and equipment planning.
Profile
• Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in port/terminal operations, logistics coordination, or a similar role.
• Proficiency in Navis, Microsoft Excel, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Experience in KPI development, performance dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
• Strong understanding of terminal operations, resource management, and equipment planning.
