Mission                      

AGL Ports & Terminals designs, invests, develops and operates container, RoRo and multi-purpose terminals in Africa, Asia (Timor Leste, Indonesia and India) and the Americas (Haiti). Continuous improvement at our terminals is a key objective and supported through high quality infrastructure, cutting-edge equipment, modern technologies and highly trained professionals.

As Commercial Manager of AGL Ports & Terminals, you will be responsible for maintaining the commercial relationship with the respective clients of the AGL operated terminals and be in support of the commercial strategy.

Your main responsibilities will be, and are not limited to:
- Manage day-to-day relation with shipping lines head offices and / or regional offices;
- Follow up and guide the relations between the terminals and their import / export customers;
- Gather market information, analyze and deliver market intelligence in support of the strategy;
- Maintain the tariff data base, analyze and benchmark tariff structures, and follow up on the tariff policy;
- Participate in commercial negotiations, drive the formalization and implementation of commercial agreements, terminal service agreements and service level agreements;
- Follow up on credit terms with credit management and reach out to customers to settle overdue payments;
- Follow up on claims and assist on reaching commercial settlements
- Collaborate with the other functions of AGL Ports & Terminals at the Head Office and of the terminals
- Follow up and assist on the implementation of projects

You report directly to the Deputy CEO AGL Ports & Terminals, head of commercial.

 

Profil

• Holder of a master's degree
• Commercial mind set and minimum 5 years' experience, experience in the shipping industry is a plus
• Ambition to learn and take on challenges
• Ambitious and eager to make a career in an international group with an African footprint
• Analytic, accurate and at ease with figures
• Dynamic, organized and ability to manage multiple projects
• Bi-lingual, English and French
• Open minded and challenging the status quo
• Quick learner and ability to summarize easily

Travelling abroad is to be considered.
