Mission description

Based in Nairobi and reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for the following key result areas: -

1. Support and review SOPs.
2. Conduct operational audits and institute continuous improvements (KAIZEN) and preventive activities through the project.
3. Identify operational and QHSE training needs and facilitate delivery of the training.
4. Ensure a secure, safe and healthy working environment during the course of the project whilst monitoring activities to avoid environmental pollution.
5. Conduct tool box meetings with the teams on safety matters among others
6.Ensure centralized documentation and report all incidents and accidents lead the root-cause analysis process and implement corrective and preventive measures.
7. Ensure QHSSE and business ethics compliance as per the SOP's and regulatory requirements.
8. Prepare and submit reports to the GLC Operations Manager and Group Reporting as per policy.
9.Establish and implement emergency response procedures and evaluation plans and ensure all personnel are aware of the plans, procedures and assembly point.
10.Ensure that appropriate personal protective equipment are available, in good condition, and sufficient for all employees.
11. Induct all new employees and contractors on site on all health, safety and environmental policy and regulations to ensure their safety.
12.Raise requisition for QHSSE supplies to facilitate operations.
13.Investigate accidents and incidents and take counter measure, identify the root cause, corrective and preventive actions and report the same to the relevant teams in real time.

Profile

1. Bachelors degree in Science related Field.
2.Working knowledge of Management Systems e.g. QMS ISO 9001, EMS ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
3. NEBOSH certification will be an added advantage
