Mission Description
Job Purpose:
Control of truck traffic within depot and loading/unloading of containers. Inspection of shipping containers to report condition, Identify damages and Estimation on damages.
Key Responsibilities:
• Inspect containers for damages according to customer criteria and then record and report container condition (status), grade and damages.
• Processing of container traffic and related trucks through the depot including truck control and container loading/unloading, and controlling correct stacking and allocation of containers, correct control of container numbers and ISO.
• Completing all documentation internal and external for container moves and container inspections.
• Processing containers in all areas of container yard flows - container receiving and releasing, pre-allocation containers and customer instructions, empty container relocation (evacs) and empty landed operations.
• Identify and direct movement of containers for additional services - repairs, upgrades, viewing and inspections, washing, reefer pre-trip inspections.
• Periodic stock take of containers.
• Housekeeping and cleaning of container yard.
Profile
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• Grade 12
• A certificate in security, logistics, Shipping & Freight will be advantageous.
• Typically, 1 to 3 years of relevant administrative is preferred (container handling, Cargo inspection or quality control).
• Ability to identify structural damage, contamination, or tampering.
• Basic understanding of customs, packing lists, seals, and waybills.
