Mission Description
To obtain new business clients through prospecting, client interface, proposals, estimates and achieve specified sales targets within the Southern Africa Corridor. Successfully implement new business obtained and continue to build relationships and service clients in the Corridor.
This position will be working in collaboration with the Durban corridor development team and other respective Commercial teams along the corridors.
Profile
Job Function:
• Develop corridor business through all 4 Southern Africa corridors (Durban / Dar es Salaam / Beira / Walvis bay) according to the applicable procedures
• Develop mining/project business into Southern Africa
• Assist with tender completion and submission (with assistance from bid team in London for larger tenders and two estimators)
• Working with the KAM team for mining and projects into Africa
• Building a business pipeline
• Submitting quotations
• Building a rates master template for the 4 corridors
• Promoting and utilizing the AGL corridor services (Chingola HUB / WHC/Zalawi / port warehouses)
• Formulate strategies to successfully win new business and in doing so, increase market share.
• Weekly and monthly reporting as required internally and to client.
• Managing Concerto (CRM) according to applicable requirements.
• Liaise with product heads to secure best rates and service offering to meet customer requirements.
• Create awareness and understanding of industry vertical information, requirements and general knowledge.
• Keep abreast of industry changes, information and skill requirements.
• Any other delegated tasks deemed as reasonable as assigned by the reporting manager
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• Matric certificate is essential.
• Previous Clearing & Forwarding sales experience preferred.
• 5 years or more proven sales track record preferred.
• Previous formal sales training preferred.
• Well presented, professional individual with excellent written and verbal language skills.
• Ability to effectively negotiate.
• Ability to read and interpret financial information, including budgets, financial statements and P&L data.
• Full computer literacy.
• Ability to create and implement strategies.
• Ability to work within a target driven and pressured environment.
