Mission Description                      

ob Purpose:
The emphasis of the job falls on practical efficiency of attending to administrative activities supporting depot
operations.

Job Function:
• Supporting and assisting Supervisor in his role of oversight of administrative processing and related
opertaional tasks, including training up of juniors and the rest of the team
• Capturing and operating DEPOT Tracking System for pre-receiving, receiving, storing, preparing and releasing
shipping containers, and related processes, controls and documentation for road traffic, and handling queries
and reporting.
• Interaction with and assistance of shipping lines and customers, ensuring bookings on container moves,
container verification, container preparations, queries, special customer requirements, as well as container
seal distribution functions of the team.
• Periodic container stock takes - including stock take preparations and stock number capturing, variance checks
and preparing reports.
• Communication and interaction with container repair and wash bay teams - including special repair
instructions, System documents required, ensuring completed repairs captured into the System.
• Interaction with container yard operations teams and reefer call-out teams - including special container move
instructions, container preparation, relevant customer queries. Dealing with yard staff queries.
• Ensuring response for container verification, completeness of bookings uploads and container status update.
• Physical inspection of containers as required, checking and selecting special order containers.
• Support daily container move reconciliation process.
• Support Supervisor in day-to-day operations at the Depot, and prompt reporting of problem arising or matters
requiring special attention

 

Profile

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• Grade 12
• Additional certificate or diploma in administration, logistics, supply chain, or inventory
management is advantageous.
• Typically, 1 to 2 years of experience in a in logistics, supply chain management, business
administration, or a related field is often preferred.
• Experience with stock control, inventory management, or dispatch coordination is advantageous.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
