Mission description

The HR Manager will partner with Managing Director, Regional HR Manager and Heads of Departments to provide strategic and operational support to deliver buisness and people centric HR solutions :

· To enhance and/or maintain the current HR processes and policies
· To advise managers on all HR related issues and deliverables.
· To identify and develop appropriate organisational development interventions.
· To lead key HR initiatives, from inception to completion.
· To provide a confidential counseling service to managers and staff.


Key Responsibilities :

- HR Policies: Develop, implement, and update HR policies and processes; ensure compliance and provide guidance to managers.

- Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage full recruitment cycle (posting, shortlisting, interviews) and onboarding of new hires.

- Payroll Management: Ensure timely and accurate salary payments, statutory deductions, and confidentiality.

- Manager Support: Monitor performance, manage contract renewals, promotions, and disciplinary actions.

- Employee Relations & Welfare: Act as the main contact for union and CBA negotiations; provide HR advice to management and staff to boost engagement and performance; manage poor performance, disciplinary and grievance processes; ensure compliance with HR policies and legislation; handle HR queries and oversee processes for engagement, terminations, promotions, salary adjustments, and leave administration.

- Training & Development: Lead training needs analysis, budget planning, and program implementation; evaluate effectiveness.

- Talent Management: Develop leadership programs, succession plans, and talent pipelines; manage external recruitment partnerships.


Performing other duties as may become necessary for the smooth running of the Department or the Company as a whole.

Profile

· MBA in HR Management
· Knowledge of Uganda Labour Laws
· At east 8 years' Significant experience of senior broad-based HR partnering, working in international commercial, matrix, fast-paced and complex organisations

· A strategic mind-set with a demonstrated ability to interpret business goals into robust people strategies
· A commercial focus with demonstrated ability to identify and deliver commercial outcomes
· Strong influencing, and problem-solving skills
· A willingness to work across all aspects of HR business partnering, and comfortable to work self-sufficiently
· Strong organisation and prioritisation skills and able to successfully manage and deliver multiple projects simultaneously
· Excellence in building and managing effective relationships, including with senior leaders and stakeholders. A proven ability to analyse, interpret and communicate complex and fast-moving information to senior stakeholders
· Excellent verbal communication, writing, researching and editing skills
· Strong IT skills and ability to learn new systems easily.
