Mission Description                      

Job Purpose:
Safe of movement of cargo - The Forklift Driver is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise.
The Driver is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform Picking, Quality Checking and Stocktaking activities.

Job Function:
• Receiving/Put-Away: Unload inbound shipments safely and move cargo to correct storage locations. Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas.
Inventory inbounds including but not limited to: Sea freight (Containers), Air freight, Returns, Regional transfers, Scrap, Heavy vehicles, light vehicles, palletized, and non palletized cargo

• Quality: Ensure all cargo movements are accurate and free of damage. Report quality and discrepancies immediately to supervisor

• Picking: Fulfil picking orders, ensuring correct item code and quantities are picked as per WMS.
Picking orders can be picked from but not limited to: Racks, Indoor storage, Returns area, High value cage, Outdoor storage, Outdoor Container storage
Ensure all picking tasks are conducted in efficient manner and KPI timeframes as per SOP
Coordinate activities with Picking staff to ensure maximum efficiency and process flow.
Pick outgoing stock in accordance with Huawei SOP
Picking strictly from System Generated Delivery Note (DN / TR / MiscBill)
Report all discrepancies found to Supervisor.
Inspect all inbound and outbound stock for damages and any other quality defects.
All such defects need to be reported to the Supervisor and photo's needs to be taken.
Any stock shortages / wrong bin location needs to be reported to the Supervisor for inbounds/outbounds.

• Loading: Efficiently move cargo from staging and/or storage areas into collectors vehicles and trailers
Ensure cargo is clean, safely packaged, labelled according to client requirements
Assist Supervisor and Loadmaster Coordinate dispatch priorities, including but not limited to: HTM,
subcon, Huawei engineers, third parties
Coordinate loading tasks with Admin team to ensure dispatch priorities and SOP timeframes are adhered
Coordinate loading tasks with Fidelity (QC2) to ensure dispatch priorities and SOP timeframes adhered
Coordinate loading tasks with transport drivers to ensure cargo placed securely on vehicles, with correct
Weight/axle distribution.

 

Profile

Job Function:
• Equipment: Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, pallet truck, or other power equipment you are licenced to operate
Maintain the machinery in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
Ensure daily checklists are conducted on each machinery to be used, before operating the machinery, Including but not limited to: Fuel, battery cells, battery water, electrics, hydraulics, wheels, forks
Ensure these daily checklists are filed safely and neatly according to SOP and records are available on request
Machinery to be placed on charge / refuelled at end of shift daily, ready for next shift.
Report any defects immediately to supervisor and/or manager and follow up on repairs ticket with person responsible for logging the ticket
Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.


• Inventory: Assist the Inventory supervisor and Inventory team to move cargo around as reasonably required, including but not limited to: inventory grouping, replenishment, scrap separation, space optimization etc


• Safety and Security: Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
Liaison with supervisors and client for 8S walks – weekly, monthly, quarterly
Rectification and improvement for all faults found during 8S inspection
• Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards.
• Ensure safe and efficient stacking of all cargo at all times, in all areas of the warehouse premises
• Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures.
• Rotational weekend and public holiday overtime duties as required by client
• Any other reasonable ad-hoc duties as requirement by management and the client
• Adherence to all warehouse SOP's
• Ensure high standard of housekeeping and inventory management

Minimum Requirements: State educational and experience requirements

• Matric preferred
• Forklift licences minimum 2.5 tons
• Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.
• 1-2 years' experience operating forklift
